Cleaning your brushes
August 17, 2014You will need:
- A bowl
- A sink
- Shampoo
- A cloth
- Towel
- Run the bristles of the brushes under lukewarm water! - Avoid getting the water underneath the metal clasp of the handle as this will loosen the glue that holds the bristles together. Make sure the brushes are angled downward into the stream of water. Don't use hot water, as this may damage the bristles.
- Fill a bowl with lukewarm water and squirt about a half a pea sized amount of shampoo, gently swirl your brush tip in the water! - You could also swirl the brush in the palm of your hand to work up a lather
- Rinse the brush tip under running water once again!
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the water runs clear from the brush!
- Use a cloth to wipe your brush clean! - Reshape the bristles as you go
- Lay your brushes flat on a cloth to dry!
You should clean your brushes every week or every other week as it helps to get rid of old makeup, dirt and debris, dead skin cells, oils and bacteria.
