North West Blogger Meetup #2

December 01, 2015

Hey guys!

On Saturday 7th November I was able to attend my 2nd blogger event. The blogger event was hosted by Jenny Dawson who had also organised the 1st blogger event I had attednded. To read about my first blogger event click here. Since the 1st blogger event I have become more confident in blogging thanks to Jenny who is very inspirational. Jenny went to so much effort into topping the 1st blogger event and even decided to raise money for the charity The Choir with No Name - a choir for homeless people. They were founded in January 2014 and they meet up every Wednesday evening at 7pm in the Bluecoat in the city centre of Liverpool. At the end of the event Jenny was able to raise over £100, which is absolutely incredible! You can find their website, here.

The blogging event was a general meetup in which we just socialised with other bloggers, connected with somee brand ambassadors and then had a buffet. Some of the brands included; Lush, Stella & Dot, My Showcase, Motives and Noctua.

I first met up with a few of the other bloggers at Liverpool Central as none of us knew where the event was held. With the help from Google Maps we found the location within a 10-15 minutes walk. The event was held at little hidden cafe called Fruit & Fibres Canteen and Craft Workshop on Norfolk Street, Liverpool. This venue was just the cutest, it was small but not-too small which made it homely. They haven't been open long but it is definitely worth going to and she holds craft workshops aswell as the cafe and has a formal/informal meeting room for other events. Hannah, who runs Fruit & Fibres had an selection of cakes from the Button's Bakehouse which inlcuded; Banana & Caramel Cake and Bubble Tea which was quite unique too.

After having a little introduction off Jenny about the busy day that was planned ahead we got on with the day. Firstly, we were introduced to Andrea, My Showcase, who is an Independent Sylist that empowers female entrepreneurs (such as; Emma Lomax, Nicky Clark and Jane Scrivner) by 'showcasing' their products and getting the products more recognition. Some of the popular brands that also include are; Magnitone, Balance Me, Balm Balm, BBrowBar and Mitchell & Peach. There was a lot of eyecatching beauty products on show (that lipgloss with a mirror and light attached was amazing and so was the see-through airplane travel kit!) Andrea was quite new to showcasing to a large group of people and I thought she did amazingly well. I specifically liked the Emma Lomax collection which had minature products in an 'emergeny kit.'

Secondly, we were introduced to Tiffany (or Twig as she liked to be called) from Stella & Dot. Stella & Dot are a company that sell some of the most beautiful and unique accessories and jewellery ever. Aswell as My Showcase, Tiffany is an Independent Sylist who was trying to raise awareness of different brands and type of jewellery and accessories available. Tiffany was also a newbie like Andrea and did amazing too. I loved how the jewellery was at an affordable price and was reversible so it could make the look updated and fresh.

Next was Sally from Taking Shape. Taking Shape is a clothing brand that originally came from Austrialia. It is aimed at plus sized women (sizes 14-26) who want to feel more confident and happy within themselves. 2 girls at the blogging event wore a few pieces from their stock and it actualyl flattered their figure and they looked absolutely incredible.

Following on was Hannah from Motives. Motives is a makeup brand that was founded in 2008 in America. Quite a lot of people compare Motives to MAC, so if your a MAC fan get yourself on the Motives website as their products are amazing. Hannah showed us a few incredible products from the range including the Brow Kit and the Maven's eyeshadow palette (in which Jenny won!)

Next was the amazing LUSH. Who doesn't love Lush?! Jonathan and Megan from the Lush Liverpool Store came and introduced to us Lush and explained their ethical morals and how they support the charity - The Choir With No Name. They then explained some of the most popular and new additions to Lush which was quite exciting. I definitely have to try that Cup O' Coffee Face/Body Mask. Then Megan did a Lush Masterclass on the wonderful Samantha (how lucky) using the products; Don't Look at Me (Face Mask), Ultrabland (Cleanser) and 9 to 5 (Toner). Samantha looked glowing afterwards. Megan also explained about the Lush Spa and the different treatments they have available. I really want to go to the Spa and have The Comforter Experience now! Any takers? Lush also kindly gave us a free godie bag with 1 full sized product (either the Mask of Magnaminty face mask or the Comforter bubble bar) and 2 sample sized pots of Ultrabland and the Dream Cream. They also have charity pots available to buy in which I couldn't resist. When you bought a charity pot (I bought the medium) you got entered into a raffle to win a Lush treatment worth over £100 (how exciting) in which the amazing Kiah won.

Following on was Noctua. Brittany who was representing Noctua started her own company at the age of 15 and is now 19 and is doing amazing. She was so lovely and confident and was such a helping hand. Brittany held a jewellery workshop in which prior to the event we were able to choose our favourite colour. I chose Amethyst (purple) gem stones as this is one of my favourite colours. Amethyst was sourced from Uruguay and relieves stress, calms energies and is great for meditationa and enhancing peoples' physic abilities.

After the jewellery making we had a buffet which was delicious! My favourite being the yorkshire puddings with mash and sausage in. We then did a raffle with loads to give away. Also, throughout the day we have a 'donation table' in which we could offer unwanted products that needed a new home. I donated a Lush 'Santa' lip scrub.

Super excited for the next blogging event, did any of yous go? :)
